AN Valuations completes the valuation of a luxury goods trading company for Dutch tax purposes

What does luxury mean to you? Is it the Rolex watch, a tin of the finest caviar, a bottle of Dom Pérignon, or fashions straight from the runway? What is deemed as luxury may change drastically with income and societal influence. Over the last decade, luxury goods have seen a steady expansion within and across many markets. However, this growing sector can be difficult to predict as consumers become more culturally diverse.  AN Valuations recently had the opportunity to work with a client that operates an international trading company, dealing with the export and import of luxury goods such as liquor, fragrance, and apparel.

The client requested AN Valuations to assist them with a business valuation to be used in support of the future tax filings of one of their shareholders, who is emigrating from the Netherlands. The Dutch tax authorities may issue a ‘conserverende aanslag’, which is supported by business valuation among other elements.  If the shareholder sells his shares in the future, the valuation used to support the ‘conserverende aanslag’ may be used as the cost basis for capital gains tax.

AN Valuations are experts Dutch tax valuations.  With our knowledge of the Dutch tax authority and their requirements, we are able to provide clients with an accurate valuation in the most complex of scenarios.  We are committed to providing our clients with well thought out and efficient services.  Fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy once said, “Luxury is in each detail.” Choose AN Valuations for your valuation needs and let us take care of the details for you.
